In this feature, Victoria Rose shares how her Calabrian roots continue to influence her work, reimagining traditional symbols into something modern, personal, and made to be worn.

Ciao, I’m Victoria Rose.
I’m a second-generation Italian-Australian with family roots in Calabria, raised in Melbourne.
Destino the Label was never just a business, it was built on love, culture, and a moment that changed everything.
At 20, while studying and working, my world shifted when my dad was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Time became everything. I reduced my hours to be by his side, making the most of every moment we had.
In that time, we started creating.
What began as a simple idea became something that gave us purpose. We spent hours talking, designing, and building something meaningful together.
My dad always wore a traditional Italian cornicello, a symbol of protection, luck, and love from my nonna. It represented everything to us, but it had never been designed for women in a modern way.
So we changed that.
We created jewellery that honours tradition while feeling contemporary, pieces to wear every day, filled with meaning and connection.
That’s where Destino began.

Alongside our jewellery, we offer a collection of European-inspired candles that celebrate our heritage, featuring scents like Limoncello, Tiramisu, and Nonno’s Fig Tree.
Each piece of jewellery is carefully handmade, with our cornicellos sourced directly from Italy to honour their authenticity. Every product we create is deeply inspired by our heritage, blending tradition with a contemporary feel.

My Italian heritage connects me to tradition, family, and generations of stories. It inspires each piece I design, blending meaning with modern style.
Through my jewellery and candles, I’m able to share and celebrate that culture in a way that feels personal, meaningful, and true to where I come from.
